Battery Energy
Battery Energy is an established
Sydney-based battery manufacturer, who with the CSIRO has developed
world-beating battery technology. These batteries have been recognised
as world class through their selection by the global battery industries
research organisation ILZRO (International Lead Zinc Research
Organisation) for their use in a showcase project piloting the use of
Remote Area Power Supplies (RAPS) in Amazonian villages in Peru. The
company has commercialised a long life, deep cycle, lead acid battery
ideal for electricity storage in remote area power systems with CSIRO
and BP Solar and with assistance from a $1 million RECP grant from the
Australian Greenhouse Office.

Wind Corporation Australia
Wind
Corporation Australia provides wind power solutions for the fast
growing renewable energy industry in Australia. The focus is on
rural grid connected wind parks and medium scale remote area
applications. The first project at Hampton in the Blue Mountains
in New South Wales has been producing green electricity since September
2002. The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) is a
partner in this project.
Additional grid connected projects are in the pipeline for rural New South Wales and interstate.

BioPower Systems Pty Ltd
BioPower Systems Pty Ltd ("BPS") is a renewable energy systems company based in Sydney. BPS will use investment capital to design, build and install full-scale prototypes of the company's bioWAVE wave power and bioSTREAM tidal power systems for generating renewable energy. The project will build prototypes at two sites in Tasmania to test the wave and tidal energy technologies.

Biodiesel Producers Limited
Biodiesel Producers Limited has
developed a biodiesel production project near Wangaratta in northern
Victoria, which will deliver 60 million litres of biodiesel per annum.
The company will transfer the technology for the plant from the
European company BioDiesel International and adapt it to suit the local
feedstock and operating conditions.
The investment by CVC REEF will
provide early stage funding for the completion of the design and
construction of their first commercial plant.

Agri Energy Limited (“AAE”), formerly Australian Ethanol Limited, is an ASX listed company
specialising in the development of
facilities for the production of alternative fuels for the motor
vehicle industry. Countries such as Brazil, the USA and Sweden have
found blending fuel with ethanol is a key strategy to lowering the ‘at
the bowser’ cost of fuel, enhancing energy security and improving
fuel’s environmental performance. The Australian regulatory environment
has supported alternative fuels through the provision of capital
grants, fuel excise rebates and sales targets. Similar frameworks
exists in both the USA and Europe.
