Vanda Russell Gould

Vanda Gould, has the following professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy and Master of Commerce in Accounting and Financial Management (UNSW);
  • Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.

He also:

  • Is a former Director and Secretary of Australian Venture Capital Association Limited;
  • Holds a full Dealers License issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission;
  • Is a registered Liquidator and Registered Trustee, with extensive experience in corporate restructuring and turn-around situations.

Business Background
Commenced working as a Chartered Accountant in 1969, initially for Greenwood Challoner. Established Gould Ralph and Company in 1976 to provide accounting, audit and advisory services to manufacturing and service businesses. By 1992, without merger or acquisition, Gould Ralph and Company grew to be one of the top 20 public accounting firms in Australia. According to Sydney Business 1998, the firm is currently ranked No. 15. Retired now from the firm he founded, he is executive chairman of CVC. With more than 13 years experience in the management of portfolios of early stage companies covering a range of technologies, Mr Gould has directed the development of CVC to be one of Australia’s most successful venture capital companies.

Divestment Expertise
Mr Gould’s principal role over the last 13 years has been the management of business enterprises. His extensive experience with businesses includes investment analysis, negotiations and company valuations for the purpose of investment mergers and takeovers, successful public company flotations and finance management. Mr Gould has been actively involved in numerous trade sales and in the initial public offerings of the following companies: Continental Venture Capital Limited, Innovax Limited (formerly known as Melbourne Australia Investments Limited), Australasian Technology Corporation Limited (formerly Pacific Communications Holdings Limited), Raptis Group Limited, Finemore Holdings Limited.

As Chairman Mr Gould’s responsibilities include:

  • portfolio design and management
  • lead negotiator in capital raisings and in dealings with investors
  • advisor on investee assessment and valuation
  • advisor and joint negotiator on investee exit arrangements and representing the Company in the financial and investment communities

An active member of the board of many public and private companies, both in Australia and overseas, Mr Gould is also Chairman of the listed public company Macarthur National Limited.

His reputation is such that he is keenly sought by potential investee businesses and entrepreneurs. He is actively involved in the management of a number of Educational Institutions.
