About CVC Capital Markets

CVC Capital Markets provides the corporate finance services of the CVC Group. The core activity is to generate income from providing transaction advice combined with principal investing to earn fees and investment returns. CVC Capital Markets is a wholly owned subsidiary of CVC Limited.

The business aims to generate income via two broad activities:

Transaction Based Services

CVC Capital Markets provides transaction-based corporate advisory services, primarily to CVC Group entities and to CVC investee companies and related entities, on an arms length basis. This includes:

  • Equity capital raising services
  • Underwriting and Sub-underwriting equity issues
  • Advisory on Initial Public Offers
  • Merger, acquisition and divestment advisory
  • Debt and mezzanine raising service

The objective is to manage the corporate transactional needs of companies within the wider CVC Group. In particular Corporate Finance plays a project management role in the process of raising new equity funds for the various CVC satellite funds/companies that are managed by CVC Funds Management.

Principal Investment

CVC Capital Markets also originates, structures, participates as investor in, and manages equity investments in small-cap and micro-cap publicly listed companies, and private enterprises.

Generally CVC Capital Markets will participate in:

  • Listed companies – Underwriting and participating in placements, rights issues & IPOs

  • Private companies - Pre-IPO equity, bridge funding, development and expansion capital

Capital Markets will often act as a lead or cornerstone investor and will behave as an activist shareholder, creating opportunities and actively building value for the companies it invests in. In some cases Capital Markets will be a passive investor with a shorter investment time horizon.
